23 January Updates: minor bugfixes, NPC defence nerf

Post by Mike » Sun Jan 23, 2022 5:38 pm

There have been numerous complaints about our bosses being far too hard to kill since the last update two days ago. Ever since that update, they have the same stats as in OSRS, but we understand that this is an RSPS and bosses being easier to kill is one of the things people enjoy about it.

We are currently working hard on simulations to determine how much we should nerf the defences of our NPC's in order for them to be balanced. In the meantime, we have already lowered the defence of all NPC's (or at least the ones who use the OSRS stats, meaning most of our bosses) so they are now somewhat easier to kill. After the simulations are done within the next few days, we will decide whether or not to lower their defence even further.

In other news:
  • A bug has been fixed that prevented players from being able to attack the Abyssal portal in some Vespula room layouts.
  • Vasa Nistirio's rock attack has been fixed and will now properly hit the player that is currently standing on the tile hit by the rock.
  • The Dagannoth Supreme's defence stats were incorrect, its melee defence was far too high. This has now been fixed, the Dagannoth Kings weekend event has been extended with 3 days to compensate.
  • The Great Olm's acid pools will no longer apply multiple hitsplats at once.
  • The Dragon warhammer special attack can no longer be used to lower the defence of the Great Olm's right claw and head.
Additional bugfixes for bugs related to the Chambers of Xeric will follow soon. Thank you all for your patience!

The melee hand is the left one...The mage hand is the right one...

well yea, metal dragons are supposed to be killed with either a stab weapon such as:
  • Chaotic Rapier
  • Zamorakian hasta
  • Dragon hunter Lance
OR with staves that have built in spells such as:
  • Trident of the seas
  • Trident of the swamp
  • Sanguinesti staff

This is because before dragons were just an npc.

Now they are properly defined as a dragon so you have to use things that metallic dragons are weak to, as Anton mentioned above
