Fishing guide.

Post by Rich dawg » Sat Sep 07, 2013 9:35 am

Hello everyone, this is my first ever guide so I hope you enjoy it. :)

The things we will be discussing in this guide is.
How to get to the fishing area.
How and where to fish.
What to fish from what levels.
XP per fish.

First what you will have to do is get to the fishing area. Here is where the skilling teleports are in each spellbook.

After that click on it and go to the next page and click on fishing.

Once you arrive there you will be in the city called ''Catherby''.
Just check your mini map to find the bank, it's only about 5-10 seconds away.
Once you have found it, buy a small fishing net from this man here.

Ok, after you have done that you will start catching shrimps. In this picture I've shown you the area to where to fish Shrimps, lobsters and swordfish. I recommend fishing shrimps from Level 1-40.

Start catching shrimps and then when you reach level 40 go back to the guy and buy a lobster pot. Then go to the lobster area (Shown in the above picture) and start fishing lobsters from level 40-60. Then start catching swordfishes from level 60-76. You will need a harpoon for this and you can get it from the same supplies store man. Now you have a high enough fishing level to start fishing sharks, You can find them in this area and you will need a harpoon for this.

Fish sharks from level 76-90 so you have a nice amount of sharks which you can sell.
Now here come the manta rays which you will fish from level 90-99. You will need a small fishing net the same as which you use to catch shrimps.
I showed where to fish them in the picture above.
Then congratulations! You have 99 fishing!

If you have premium, this is an alternative way to get from 93-99 Fishing by fishing rocktails.
Simple, just have this in your inventory, a fishing rod and living minerals. Both can be bought from the supplies man.

Lava eels[Alternate]. I made a video for it.

You can buy the fishing skillcape from thelissa's shop from the skillcape guy at varrock for 99k!

Here are the XP per fish that have been described in the guide.
Shrimps: 300 XP.
Lobsters: 2700 XP.
Swordfish: 3000 XP
Sharks: 7500 XP.
Manta rays: 9000 XP.
Rocktails: 11,400 XP.

Thank you for reading my first ever guide. Hope you enjoyed it.
I hope there are no mistakes, if there are please point them out. :)

Rocktails are for prem and idk about lava eels. This is the way I got my 99 fishing in like 2 hours and below.
I targeted this guide for new players and I suppose they aren't going to be prem within 2-3 days.

In that case, the title is misleading. What you have made is a 99 Fishing Guide, not a complete fishing guide. As well as that, you should do a quick table somewhere near the top, that is easy to see, briefly detailing how to get from 1-99 fastest, as this will be what most people are looking for anyway.

Great guide man.

- at lobsters you said 1-60, should be 40-60
- the stuff about sharks and mantas is not coloured

Rocktails give 12.500 xp, they can be fished next to manta rays or at the premium skilling zone.

Good job ;)

@Rick, Thank you for pointing out the mistakes, they have been fixed :)
@Danny13oy If I can get the correct amount of XP I will add them as you and rick are stating two different XPs for the rocktail. Plus I know where they are fished. Right in the middle of the monkfish and mantas.
