The goal of voting rewards is to encourage as many people as possible to vote. For that reason it seems counterproductive to make the cosmetic rewards tradable so that people can buy them with GP instead of having to vote for them.

How does this effect the stance on people who buy/sell their votes to gain an advantage over others to acquire a vote shop item quicker?
I don't know or remember if there has ever been a stance on that.

Our stance is that we think it's ill-advised to address an issue by punishing people when it can instead by addressed by changing the system. For this reason the amount of vote points you get rapidly diminishes upon multi-voting (on the account level). It doesn't go to zero right away because we still want people to multivote if they happen to have access to multiple locations (separated parent homes, school, work etc) because that benefits the server's vote count, but we also don't want them to be able to buy 100+ votes a day, because anyone selling votes en masse is going to be using proxies / VPN's and risks getting the server banned from toplists. As it stands we are satisfied that the diminishing vote points reward does enough to prevent this from being done at a scale that would lead to toplist bans so as long as the toplists don't give us any trouble we are not going to punish people for doing it.

Tl;dr: it is allowed as long as it doesn't get us in trouble

Stay on the ground like any regular items, except that they are at the bottom of the pile because no alch value
Fixed, forgot to give it a default drop model, Since the new sets don't have an actual drop model, I had to borrow another sets.

I get where you're coming from.. However, I'd say just making the ornament kits tradeable wouldnt be a terrible thing. Most things prior to this update were all tradeable. Phats, H'ween mask, and Dark bows. Making a few of the items tradeable would just be following the path that the vote point rewards were already on. I do respect what you say about this topic though. I don't think all of the vote shop items should be tradeable.. Some of them should be only based around that account..Like ex-ex-parrot. I would say beach gloves, staff upgrade kits, soul capes, the off-hand ale of the gods.. those could remain unchanged. I just know I've got an alt that I use for skilling that has some vote points on it but it doesnt use/need any of the vote shop items. Being able to use those vote points and transfer back to myself on my main account would be nice.

*Grumbles* I don't see why the vote shop items can't be both voted for and resold like most of the initial vote shop items. Having these items be non-tradable is a deterrent for me to vote to acquire them as when I'm done with them I would be stuck with them whereas the other items, I could sell off/trade/move to another account/stack and collect. I think someone would have to be really insistent on wanting a specific item to vote for an untradable vote shop item they knew they would be stuck with permanently and held no value.

I understand the wish to be able to sell the rewards for money when you no longer want them and would be fine with facilitating that by making them alchable. But I have no qualms about giving it to you straight: we need to get as close to 100% of the player base to vote. That's what the rewards are intended to incentivize, so giving lazy people an opt-out of voting by having the ability to buy the rewards for cash is undesirable. And yes, quite frankly, if at some point you want the cosmetics on a different account, we want you to keep voting to get them on that account as well.

At present you make 2740-4060 points a month by voting every day (depending on whether you catch the 12h resets as well). All the new cosmetics combined cost a total of 7000 points. That means you can get them all on a single account in just over 2.5 months, or 1 month and 3 weeks if you also do the 12h resets. We need people to keep voting year-round so the pricing is pretty much tailored around the idea of doing it on your alts after you're done with your main. If we wanted people to only have to unlock the cosmetics once and then be able to use them on all their accounts, we would have to make it take a lot longer to get them.
