Quick update: been working hard to finish the dev system since I posted this topic. It's been rough (70-80h workweeks) but progress has been steady and it's nearing completion. I hope to get it into their hands by week's end. The initial release will essentially be feature-complete except for the ability to release the updates themselves. The system can already do it, it's just a matter of creating an interface to allow them to trigger it, and add ways for them to get feedback from the live server (logs, process output, ...). I deliberately kept this until last because it seemed like the logical order to do things, and so that we can verify the robustness and reliability of the new system before we start doing releases without me present.

I don't plan on making any big announcements when it's ready, as it seems unfair to put pressure on the devs to deliver something with it (especially after my own lengthy inactivity). But anyway, I'm really pleased with my creation and I just wanted to let you all know that it's still on track and I didn't just disappear again after posting this. Thank you for your patience. Stay tuned.
