If we could figure out how to get an mp4 to play, that might be our best bet. For now, assume nothing is off-limits. One way or another, I'll figure it out. However you want to design it, I should be able to implement it, even if it has less than 50 fps. I was messing around with the fps controller yesterday and I might have found a way to change itPatel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 7:44 pmI think an animated Login BG would be sick, but I actually had a static one in mind haha. That said I am intrigued and maybe interested, to my understanding using a GIF would be the simplest way to go. 50 fps is going to be heavy, can't lie, that's adding a solid 20-40 mb of data for a 2-3 second loop at max quality. Happy to make it longer but we'd have to play around to make sure it's not too big... But with the right subtlety I agree that it could take our client to the next level. I'll make a static one first and see if there's time to explore animated options.
As for the splash image... that's what I was hoping to animate.
Hmm... a 200 x 200 px png on average would be about ~100 kb per image (just assuming Gaussian noise profile as a baseline), the loop would probably be quite simple (just some dynamic lighting effects with some form of the PkHonor logo, maybe an animation). Assuming we're not restricted to 50 fps, I could make something that goes at 20-30 fps for 5-10 seconds resulting in 10-30 MB of data. Say I restrict it to 5 seconds - could still look good without being overwhelming and keep us closer to 10-15 MB. A sprite map could work in this scenario as well given the size of the image. I'd also bring the size of the image down further in post processing, regardless of the route I take
@Rick not as quick as I used to be unfortunately, gimme time xd

Good to know! Coming out of After Effects, I can make Gifs, Mp4s (or any other video format), and PNG sequences, so it will be easy to switch around.Brant wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 8:45 pmIf we could figure out how to get an mp4 to play, that might be our best bet. When I wrote up the dev blog, I originally had the runelite logo on there but removed it for fear of copyrightThe underdog wrote: ↑Wed Jul 17, 2024 6:34 pm Copyright infringement, we wouldn't want to have that now would we?
