@Legit nukes good to see you again bud!! I don't think Hamade wants to come back, nor could we have another pre-2013 Hamade (cuz if you recall, we spent an entire summer compiling evidence that Hamade was NOT an effective leader anymore). Also he's married, has a life, and has moved on to bigger and better things.
To further dispell the rose tinted view, the only reason I even know what "sand n****r" means is because of pkhonor. We only muted 2 or 3 hours for that. Now it can be upto a day. We've only become harsher for things that deserve it, but because mods and admins have actual lives now they can't constantly sit at edgeville and monitor various chats. That's why reports are defaulted to now
We also have Ryan now, and he's not only done more, been around longer, and kept the server stable for longer than any staff member/manager before him, he's done so without giving up, burning out, losing motivation, etc. If there are issues like @Raj pointed out about how trials are tested, those should definitely be addressed. However...
Mods are adults now, admins as well. We don't have kids with a lot of free time being mods, so it's just not reasonable to expect them to hang out like they used to. I agree that it's "less" than it used to be. This has tangible effects on the community vibe and I agree that the server often feels stale despite 100+ player counts. But this server is not more important than an exam, a paycheck, a family, etc. Nor should it ever be
This is a pretty hot take dude, can't lie. Especially about the staff and management. It's fair to disagree with management and goals, but to assert that Hamade would do a better job than Ryan is just... Idk, shortsighted. You knew Ryan, but you don't *know* Ryan. Believe me, when he was a wee lil help mod I also didn't see him as admin material. However he got the position during a low point with less help than most admins of the past, and he *stepped up* more than anyone ever has.
