Collection log - items shared between NPC's
For example: if I get a Draconic Visage from Frost Dragons, should it also count that drop for the Lava Dragons, King Black Dragon and Vorkath?
On OSRS the items are shared AFAIK, so getting a drop once completes it for all. At first I thought it was really weird to mark drops for NPC's you didn't get them from, but it's just another way of looking at it I guess. Then the collection log is more a way of asking: is there anything I can get from this NPC that I don't have yet?
We can go either way on this. It's whatever you guys prefer.
PS: Anyone who suggests togglescape will have to get each drop 10 times to get it marked.
EDIT: One very important thing to note:
The vast majority of these shared items are not actually NPC drops. They are shared between chests, easy/hard/elite treasure trails, mystery boxes etc. So although it would no longer give you an accurate representation of how many you got from each, it might be better to share them anyway because it'd be a royal pain to have to obtain all the items from all those possible sources.

I can't really think of any rare/unique item that is shared between bosses. But let's do it the OSRS way for @Respire1337

Given the option, I would rather see the drops only count for the mob that dropped them.
Would be a little something more to work for if you wanted to actually work towards ‘completing’ the log.

I want togglescape, thanks Rapsey!
The only 2 unique drops from bosses that I know of that are shared between multiple mobs are the smouldering stone ( Cerberus and hellhounds ) and the abyssal dagger ( Abyssal Sire and abyssal demons ) @Nazuths
Being required to obtain items that are dropped by a specific mob would be better and much more challenging. So, no, I say no to shared drops between mods (for certain uniques), but yes to shared drops for common items ( like draconic visages).
Also @Rapsey, why are there 2 sources for certain pets? Clue items should be shared.

It also has the benefit of properly tracking your drops. I.e. the page tells you you have 1000 kills on this boss and 10 drops of a particular item, then you know you actually got 10 from this boss and not maybe 1 from this boss and 9 from others.Cancerstick wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 12:19 pm Given the option, I would rather see the drops only count for the mob that dropped them.

Not an option, sorry.
Also not an option. It's either for all drops or for none. This is a fundamental decision in the way things are stored and how uniqueness is determined so we can't do it both ways.Respire1337 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 1:03 pm Being required to obtain items that are dropped by a specific mob would be better and much more challenging. Those are actually wrongly listed here. They are not obtained from different sources, they just appear on multiple tabs (e.g. Pet Snakeling is on the Zulrah tab but also on the All Pets tab). But that's possible because they are still counted as a unique drop for Zulrah, it just gets displayed in more than one place. So that's not quite the same as registering some drops uniquely and others shared.Respire1337 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 1:03 pm Also @Rapsey, why are there 2 sources for certain pets? Oh shit, if that's the case, then I'd say it's better to have them shared, exactly like OSRS does.

Re: Collection log - items shared between NPC's
Okay I'm gonna backpedal on that one. It is doable to do both, e.g. have clue items be shared but monster drops be unique. But I am personally against mixing it up within these different categories (e.g. some monster drops are shared but others are not). That would just be hella confusing and also be a mess to code.

Re: Collection log - items shared between NPC's
I'd like to be able to use my collection log to log what I got from each boss, personally. If I haven't killed Vorkath it doesn't make sense to have drops filled in at Vorkath I think. The only exception to this should be for clues, which I think should just be one giant tab called 'clues' and not split into difficulties, for the sake of not having to implement it both ways

Okay, so pretty much this. Not shared for pvm, shared for clues. Seems fine?Pvm porn wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2020 1:48 pm I'd like to be able to use my collection log to log what I got from each boss, personally.
