Avernic defender hilt

In OSRS, the Avernic defender hilt from ToB can be combined with a dragon defender to create an Avernic defender. This process can be reversed, but you will not receive the hilt back.

I'm wondering if we should do the same on here, or if we should actually return the defender + hilt when disassembling the defender. I'll let the community decide on this one

Destroy the hilt, this could be critical to the future integrity of the item and cost to it.

Normally I would say we shouldn't destroy it, but in this case I think it should be.

There should be more penalties moving forwards.

Yea destroy the hilt if ya disassemble it. But for the love of god don't do it the other way around, no need to have a sink for a basic item thats already overpriced :p

Dissassemble = destroy hilt. Or... don't give the option to disassemble.

Damn you guys are insane. We don’t need item sinks. Just let people disassemble and keep both. Dragon defenders are already unreasonably rare. I don’t understand the obsession this community has with punishing players for playing the game.

Yeah I can read thanks. I’m saying we need less item sinks and more item sources. Just because the dragon defender isn’t disappearing doesn’t mean that it’s market won’t be affected.

But how is this relevant to this thread? The only item being sunk is a very rare item that isn't supposed to be accessible. Anyone else at the stage of getting a avernic defender already has a dragon defender. It wont have any real impact on that market. Your two comments literally provide nothing relevant to the question Mike asked and is just pulling attention towards a different issue. The only reason it would be relevant to make it appear as if dragon defenders WILL be sunk because of avernics would be if actually Mike suggested that as one of the options, but he didn't. Dafuq dude.
