Placeholder locking: entire bank or per tab?

Post by Rapsey » Fri Nov 16, 2018 4:12 pm

It's a simple question. A few pro's and cons of both:

Entire bank locking:
+ Same as OSRS (so people know how it works)
+ Simpler (since it's just 1 toggle button)
- Less flexible
- You have to toggle it on/off constantly to make it work
- Button takes up interface space (we have no idea where we're gonna put it lol)

Per tab locking:
+ More flexible
+ You can just set it once, doesn't need to be toggled on/off constantly
+ Doesn't require interface space (right click option on the tab)
- Different from OSRS (people won't find it right away)
- Not as convenient to quickly toggle on/off (but also no need to)

I like per tab locking because it allows you to just lock your organized tabs and keep your unorganized tab(s) unlocked, so you can just put stuff in tabs to organize without having to toggle the locking. But it does have downsides so, let us know what you think!

Placeholder all is loc.

If you're running out of space to put the button, would it be possible to put it into the bank frame similiar to how they added the incinerator?

I would just love to have the actual OSRS bank interface, but then, where do we put the placeholder buttons? :?:

Compile it into the wrench icon. Toggle it on and off from there, and then later on down the road if we need to add any other updates, there will be potential room to do so.

It's give and take, we want place holders, so whether there's a button on the main bank interface, or in a seperate tab, should just be okay with having it in general.
