Has it always been this way, I think I still had The Builder as my forums name when I had a ban request on my in game account

Yes, it has always been this way. Of course if you had the name as your main on the forums when it got banned then nothing will happen. We can't automatically set another account as your main. Most people don't have any secondary accounts linked to their forums account and even for those who do, it would be stupid if suddenly they can't log in anymore because their account got renamed to god knows what. We won't ban the forums account either since it would be equally stupid to have to create a new forums account to be able to appeal your ban.The builder wrote:Has it always been this way, I think I still had The Builder as my forums name when I had a ban request on my in game account
But if you already have another name on the forums and you want to change it to an account name that is banned, then you can't do it. Losing the ability to use that account is part of the punishment + a good portion of accounts get banned for inappropriate usernames, so it would be silly to let people use those names on the forums.
