Multiple pets is an oversight by Mike, that's all. I don't believe he spent enough time working on the details for this update as he should have as it seems to be very inconsistent with everything else, OSRS in particular.

Slayer helm is a problem and is likely going to be changed in the future.

Most damage is best in the long run. It's only whilst it's still so new that it's "a problem" because all the OP players are still trying. Besides, better gear is supposed to reward you with better loot; penalising that for untradeables seems pointless and you may as well have everyone running around in dhide with a dscim if gear shouldn't matter at all. Once all the 'OP' players get it, it's no problem at all. Also, if they were getting every single drop then they're better off not being in the CC anyway, making the LSP system redundant anyway.

Unless the pet can be combined with another later . . . but even then you should be only be able to have one so you don't stack them

Maybe I am a bit too much thinking about myself. But the only reason I will log in is to pvm with friends. Boss pets gave people a reason to do some bosses again and making it lsp based makes it interesting for me as well. If it was highest damage i wouldnt even consider getting online.

It's the opposite for some people, myself included. I'm not getting online just to find out that I won't get my drop because someone else can leech off me for a pet. I don't care if they leech for monetary gains, as that can be split. But for something they can't give me fair compensation for, I don't see why they should be able to steal it from me.

But doesnt this give a benefit to both parties? People like me can pvm with friends, people like you just dont use lootshare (if you are sure you have highest damage anyways)?

People like you PVM with friends, whereas I'm forced to go solo and not get any LSP myself? I mean, sure, I could go with others and just not join a CC but then I don't get LSP for later. If it went to highest damage, but once you have a pet it goes to second-highest if you're highest, then EVERYONE wins out because as more and more people get the pet, it no longer becomes a contestable matter and we can all join up together for PVM.

It's currently not a problem once you do have the highest LSP, but when you don't it becomes wasteful. Under the proposed damage based system, it doesn't matter if someone else gets the pet because with every other person getting a pet, your chance improves. The current system doesn't do that at all; with every person getting a pet, your chance doesn't improve as long as you don't have the best LSP. If it's damage based and the best person has a pet, and everyone else has equal gear, then EVERYONE has a fair chance on the pet not just whoever has the best LSP at that moment.

If you assume everyone has the same gear, it's fairest to make it damage based because that way everyone has equal chances. EVERYONE, not just whoever missed a drop at Nex. As it stands I'm best off getting -10M LSP from Barrows, using that to miss a drop at Nex and then going to Corp in order to get a pet that I've essentially boosted for. I could literally go there with a Bronze Dagger and have a better chance than you. That's not fair at all to anyone.

Well it wouldnt be a problem for me if you only could get 1 pet and if the highest damagedealer has a pet already, it would go to the second highest damagedealer. So I support that system.

It's an interesting proposition, but as for people having multiple pets, I honestly see no problem with that, since you can only ever use one at any given time anyway. Plus the baby corps don't go to your refund box (I think), meaning if you lose it, you'll need to re-obtain one. Having more than one comes in handy then.

We're still thinking of the particular features boss pets could offer, but I'm thinking something along the lines of giving them extra drop rates on their own (but only when fighting the boss that dropped it), as well as damage reduction from said boss. None of this has been finally decided yet though, so this can still change.
Letting a boss pet eat your ex-ex-parrot to get extra droprates on all NPC's could be a thing, but then I'd have to add a second version of each boss pet first. However, if I'd implement that, how would I name it?

I think that your idea for giving extra drop rate when fighting the same boss that dropped the pet is an amazing idea.
As for allowing your boss pet to eat your ex ex parrot you could just put an (ex) beside it ex. Baby Corporeal Beast (ex)
