Not sure why people are voting against reverting them, you can revert any status on the game you can currently obtain....
I think you should do it with an npc rather than adding an item like osrs http://services.runescape.com/m=news/ir ... ldschool=1

I think Mike means that if you play on an ironman there will be some things that are a little bit different from regular players which benefit ironmen.
So one could make an ironman acc and use it's benefits (whatever they are, an ironman shop maybe) and then revert to normal with the profits/xp.
In that case I think you should not be able to change to normal at all.
When there are no benefits from being an ironman then it should simply be free, removing you from ironman high scores etc ofcourse.
This would require having set a (separate) 'bank' PIN at the creation of the account and as said should have multiple days time to revert for hacks.

Yeah and they could also lose whatever "benefits" they got cheaply upon reset. The underdog wrote:I think Mike means that if you play on an ironman there will be some things that are a little bit different from regular players which benefit ironmen.

True, though that depends on the benefits indeed.Azu rite wrote:Yeah and they could also lose whatever "benefits" they got cheaply upon reset. The underdog wrote:I think Mike means that if you play on an ironman there will be some things that are a little bit different from regular players which benefit ironmen.

Don and prem should be obtained in another way and removed as said before.
Things like % bonuses can't be easily removed for example (not that I think there should be any % bonuses)
Maybe ironmen can use a private boss room if they happen to be crashed too much, which in theory is a benefit but it wouldn't matter at all.
So we need to know the benefits before a final answer. But it's pretty logical actually.
Major unremovable benefits - can't remove status.
Removable benefits - can remove status at loss of the benefits
No benefits - can remove status at no costs

I am more excited for the GWD weekend though
However if you choose to be an ironman, then I think you should stick with it forever!

Let's just keep them seperate. It makes things confusing by adding in an option to revert.

The benefits Mike is talking about are things like greater drop rates.Azu rite wrote: Yeah and they could also lose whatever "benefits" they got cheaply upon reset.
Can't really just "lose" all the drops they got as an ironman upon reverting...
No option to revert .

They don't need better drop rates though, it defeats part of the notability associated with Ironman if you know they're getting more drops simply because they're an Ironman. The only benefit to Ironmen PVM-wise should be a private height for bossing.Amount wrote:The benefits Mike is talking about are things like greater drop rates.Azu rite wrote: Yeah and they could also lose whatever "benefits" they got cheaply upon reset.
