It's been several years since the release of boss pets, and even longer since the release of Nex itself as a boss. However, unlike literally every single other boss (even the Barrows brothers have a pet version at this point), Nex does not drop any pets yet.

There is one reason for this, and one reason only. Which is that I wanted the Nex pet to be something truly special. Yet time and again, I kept postponing this decision, putting it off because I just couldn't figure out how to make it into something special, or simply forgetting about its existence altogether.

It's about damn time this stupid pet is released already (you can hate me for it all you want, I don't blame you at all). But I still struggle to find the answer to what exactly I should do with it, and in which manner I should bring it into the game.

That's where our loyal community comes in. Dozens of brains are better than just one set of brains, so here we go. Let's discuss this and have this darn thing released in our next update (as long as it's not being made too exotic).

As such, we need to the answer the following questions:

• How should it be obtained? As a simple drop from Nex (same as any other boss pet), or should you trade in one of each of the four GWD boss pets at the Wise Old Man for a chance to receive the pet? Or a combination of both - players have a very low chance to get the Nex pet, but trading in other GWD pets at the Wise Old Man increases this chance. The difficulty to obtain the pet should probably also be related to its usefulness (see the following questions).
• Do we actually want the Nex pet to have any special perks at all, or do we just want it to behave like any other boss pet?
• If it is to have special perks, should these be purely visual/cosmetic in nature, should it grant one or more simple but useful QoL feature(s) or should it have powerful abilities?
• If we want it to have perks, do we want this to be restricted to Ancient prison (the Nex boss room and the place where you get killcount for Nex), the entire God Wars Dungeon, or to be used all over the world?

Before you ask: we will not give Nex any PvP perks. Outside PvP, feel free to suggest your own perks or QoL features related to the pet. The more ideas, the merrier.

Why does this pet need a different effect or way to obtain than any other pet....? I don't see the logic or reason behind it. It's just Nex.

Damn looks like I'm going to need a dup of gwd pets. Worth it.

Honestly wouldn't mind if it would help attack or boost your damage by a percent much like how the stone of jas boost damage in gwd in rs3. I still think it should have the lucky boost if fed a ex ex parrot. Another effect it could have is if you have a Bandos kite, if equipped, acts like you have one equipped reflected damage and letting you obtain zgs without needing the shield.

Just spit balling some ideas

I love the idea to implement a nex pet, seen as it has been accessible on honors and proven useful when pvming with one on a main I don't see any reason why it shouldn't also be accessible to mains and irons.

I don't believe that it should have any special abilities, as none of the other pets in the game do, other than when fed an ex ex parrot it would increase the rate of a unique drop, but also I think that when receiving dupe pets as it would be solely down to rng, that it would be a tad overpowered to have only the nex drops on the drop table for trading in the pet if this was to be allowed within the implement of the pet, so to add my own unique twist i would suggest that if this pet would be able to be traded in, that it could roll a drop from each of the GWD boss tables as well as the nex table to make it a bit less of a guaranteed huge payout and to stop a huge surge of nex armours coming into the game from pets being traded in.

My opinion is - I believe you should be able to receive from nex itself as a rare drop but you have to have handed in all 4 GWD pets to the wise old man first to be able to get it.
I also think there should be a teleport added to the pet so that you can tele straight to the bank outside the nex room instead of running there. Would be a cool addition added to it, make it more of an end game feeling.. make it so its hard to get and its more of a grind feeling.
Make the drop rate ridiculously rare like 1/5000 just like the ice diamond from frosts.

I agree with most except for the 1/5000 lol, that is absolutely insane. Not near my computer right now but I wonder how many accounts have that much KC or higher since next was released. Cannot be too many and it's been how many years? 10?

Edir: not to base rates off prior but that just seems too high even from if it was released today
