Nah I totally agree was just saying why I think they don’t give out harsher punishments to players, but I think it seems worse now then it did years ago simply because a few bed eggs out weighs 10 good eggs YanoRaj wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 2:52 amI think you are underestimating how severely the player count is effected when people can bully players (and staff/devs) they don’t like out of the community at will and they know itKtm drip wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 2:49 am I ageee, but I think the reason why staff aren’t so harsh on the punishments is simply because we can’t really afford to lose anymore players, there are times where I log in and see there’s 20 players online which makes it really demotivating to play and on other reasons. Years n years ago the staff were pretty harsh on punishments simply because they could afford lose a few of the toxic players because the player count wouldn’t of been affected
Edit: inb4 Patel comes in here saying something about quality of the current player base contributing more to future growth than its current size

I think you are most correct, objectively speaking. I also agree with 95% of what Patel says 100% of the time. Great open discussion, mostly instigated by one post from the big man himself. Be kind to yourself Mike. <3Iron adam wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 12:23 amI think I speak for a lot of people when I say this.
We don't want you to step aside unless you feel it is the best thing for YOU. Do not step aside if you think it is the best thing for PkHonor. All we ask is that others are empowered to do things that will grow the server. I don't think there is anyone in this community who has as much knowledge about running an RSPS than you and Rapsey. PkHonor needs that knowledge in order to survive. I think simply empowering others will result in more content/progress, which will reduce the negativity around the server, which will make it easier on you and Rapsey.
Right now we need to sort out two things:
- We need to de-bottleneck development and we need clarity on the staff team. If that means that developers can release updates on their own, or it requires review from 1 additional developer. Whatever it looks like, we need to make it happen.
- If you guys believe in Jayden (which I think most of the community does), then he needs to be promoted to staff manager. The lack of clarity has been causing numerous issues. We need strong leadership now more than ever.

Re: Out-of-game Moderation
Just stating a few opinions I have,
I agree completely on the staff needs to sort out their mess..
Need to fully promote Jayden into staff manager position, he needs to create a staff around him which is active and voted upon with the community.
I also believe there SHOULD be a split role between staff manager and community manager.
Me and Adam have no seen eye to eye in the majority of my time playing the game but I think he does far more than anyone else in moderation of continually working on community suggestions/wiki/events. He’s one of the few that I know wants the server to grow and continually wants the communities input on every topic of discussion. That being said, if he wants the position anyways he would be a great fit and help to the community even if it doesn’t have the same powers as mod/admin etc.
Fixing and finalizing those positions would greatly benefit and help the community gain confidence in pkhonor again in my opinion..
It sucks to see Mike struggling but it shows how much he cares about this game to step aside for the time being to help see the progression of pkhonor through. I don't think we need a new owner per se but a checks and balances before updates.. we have three or four devs why not just make it so majority have to approve of an update before being sent out? (I don’t develop so maybe it’s more complex than this).

Re: Out-of-game Moderation
I greatly appreciate all the support, but at this point I do believe it's best for both the game and myself if I step out of the picture for a bit, at least for the time being. Receiving a monthly paycheck from PkHonor - even though it's way below minimum wage at this point - still gives me the feeling that I'm fully responsible for the server and what happens to it and it's my duty to step in to sort things out, which I am simply not capable of handling. This in turn puts extra pressure on myself, making matters worse. I have a strong feeling that giving myself pause and yielding any and all responsibilities to someone else is what I need right now to help to sort both myself and the server out, so that I can at least stop feeling guilty about not being there for my server when it needs me the most, while still receiving some (albeit limited) compensation for it.
This would also give a bit of financial room to put someone in place who can receive a compensation for all the hard work they're doing, whether it be for community/staff management or programming (or both, but then it'd have to be split between two people, because I agree that programming and community/staff matters should be handled by different people). I will leave this for Rapsey to decide upon what he feels is the best course of action.
The simple matter of fact is that there just isn't enough revenue to give two people a minimum wage for maintaining this server, but I do believe that some sort of minimal compensation should be in order for those who take up the responsibility of running the server and making executive decisions. Looking back, I should have probably made the decision of passing on my responsibilities a year ago (if not longer), but better late than never.

But yeah appointing two people to be lead devs would be ideal I think having one would just cause the same problems I think you had with burn out and lack of motivation

@Mike I personally don’t think you need to give up any equity. The game currently is a product of your work over the years. Plenty of people step away from their businesses after a while, while recognizing their equity is not symbolic of their current work output but what they built. I feel like you are selling yourself short. Just don’t want to see my friends make any rash decisions they regret later

Re: Out-of-game Moderation
Honestly would be more than happy to contribute to this sort of thing. I think someone else being the official community manager is a better idea, I think advisory suits me well. Just need access to information and transparency - the less information I have, the less I can make good inferences on what to do and the less useful I become. Will be ok2 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 2:10 am Fully agree with both of you boys, Patel would also be a good fit potentially IMO if he was up to it!

I actually don’t believe there is anybody who would deserve it more then you tbh, you’ve been around the longest, seen every generation of staff member/ player come and go. Think you’re probs the most level headed dude there is I think you’d be a great fit for whatever tbhPatel wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 7:47 pmHonestly would be more than happy to contribute to this sort of thing.
