The higher tier of skilling you're doing the more likely the clues.
You'll get more clues from magic trees than yew trees.
Actually.....
Magic trees have a higher drop rate than yew trees..... you can’t prove that Magic trees yield more clues until the above thread question is answered.
I'm not doing this with you elon. The chance of getting a clue per tick of skilling or whatever, is higher for higher tier skilling. Imagine a world in which you collect all logs at the same speed, you would get the most clues from magic.
Not doing what with me? This thread was literally made in order to answer a question. You came on the thread and made a baseless statement that was basically a guess. And I corrected you. You don’t have to get offended so easily.

All the man's trying to do is find the most efficient method of grinding clues since it's so motherfucking hard to get easy, meds and hards
Actually..... just trying to gather information for more Tips of the day
. The Pkhonorians would love this data!

I answered the question. You just have this habit of refusing to accept reality when I tell you things.

Accepting reality? It’s not reality just because you think it’s true. If you can’t prove the things you say, then you shouldn’t say them.
You can not physically prove the statement that Magic Trees give more clues than Yew trees until the development team answers the question that I posed above.
That would be the same as me saying that Rocktails gives more clues than Monkfish since they require a higher level. It can not be proven true without knowing what clue scroll drop rate is based on.
I’m not gonna allow you to come on to my posted question and make baseless accusations without any concrete proof, and just your 2-3 years of server experience. Admin or not. I want the REALITY, not just what you believe.
Edit: Another example of this false way of thinking is that because Nex has a higher combat level, it’s faster to get elites from her than Frost dragons. It is objectively true of all terms were the same, but considering the Nex can take 10 minutes to kill, while frosts take 20 seconds, it changes things drastically.... this can be brought to every skill that drops clues..

It's by gather rate I'm pretty sure. I asked the skilling god jousi himself a while back ago. I asked him if brawlers helped in giving clues faster but he said no it's still the same.
heard from alot of people that it's the gather rate over xp rate, and i've noticed it myself too, fishing monkfishes which is 1 tick fish or so gives way more clues than manta rays for example

But if Monkfish are better experience rates in general, while also being faster gathering rate, how do you know which aspect of measurement is being calculated?

I get what you’re saying fully and agree, it’s so easy just to make empty statements on what you believe is true or your personal experience however your experience, someone else’s and the truth can all vary, Elon is clearly looking for the DEVELOPERS to answer his question because they’ve got access to the information needed to provide him a proper answer. Everyone can read the base statement that was released but doesn’t grant trying to assume exact details. @Thoby @Mike @Rapsey
Can you let us know maybe how this all works, in regards to you have a better chance of gathering clues from EXP based or in general, I.e.
1 in 1K runite ores
1 in 3K gold ore
Or is based as 1 in 50M exp similar to the pet drops.
I personally assume whatever the META exp is will grant the most clue scrolls but again; I have no real data behind my beliefs.

The rates are dictated by the specific ore/log/fish that is gathered. It does not directly correspond to the level required, nor is it linear. A custom value is selected for each of the resources (imagine something like; rocktail = 120, manta = 100, etc), this value indicates the chance of receiving a clue scroll when receiving any of the resources. I honestly couldn't give you a quick and easy answer using the code, since these values are then used within a non-linear formula, where a value of 100 is not two times as likely to provide a clue scroll as a value of 50.
Since it's not straight-forward and will likely only cause more confusion, I don't think I will be presenting the values of each of the resources. I think your best bet would be to test the different methods, and compare the rates that way. I realize that I am not a big help in this case, but I hope that it at least clears it up a bit!
